Transfer the gas meter

Have you signed a lease agreement and are required to transfer the gas contract into your name? You can do this in two ways:

  • online – print, sign, and send the documents via -> (contact form)

The most important thing is to prepare the complete set of documents on the day you receive the keys to your newly rented apartment.

📌 What do you need to prepare?

  1. Declaration of Choosing a Backup Supplier (template available for download)

Here you will find an alphabetical list of backup suppliers. Choose one backup company and designate it as the backup supplier in the declaration.

  1. Declaration of Legal Title to the Property (template available for download)

Tick point 1.1 stating that your legal basis for concluding the gas supply agreement is a lease agreement: “umowa najmu”

  1. Meter Handover Protocol (you will receive it from us)

This is a key document for settlements – without it, the contract cannot be transferred correctly.

  1. Declaration of Choosing a Tariff Group (template available for download)

Choose one of the tariffs – they depend on what you need natural gas for. For individual customers, the most common choice is the W Groups. Which situation best matches the apartment you are renting?

W-1: consumption up to 3350 kWh (the apartment only uses gas for a cooking stove)
W-2: consumption from 3350 to 13350 kWh (the apartment uses gas for water heating)
W-3: consumption from 13350 to 88900 kWh (the apartment has gas heating)
W-4: consumption above 88900 kWh

  1. Authorization from the Person Handing Over the Meter (you will receive this document from us)

Authorizes you to take over the gas consumption point.

How can you check that the process was completed successfully?

You will receive a confirmation email or (if completed in person) you will immediately sign and receive the agreement.

  • the old agreement is terminated
  • the new agreement is issued in your name
  • gas consumption settlements are calculated from the meter reading on the day of takeover until the day you move out

What should you remember? Last but equally important

Inform us once you have completed the meter transfer process.

Most common mistakes
